Our Mission:
To equip churches and families with tools to inspire children with the light of Jesus. To provide innovative and creative ideas, products, and programs to teach children about the love of God.
Our Purpose:
To breathe fresh focus on Jesus as the reason for the Easter holiday as well as other religious holidays focusing on Jesus’ sacrifice for every one of us. Our purpose is to create childhood experiences that develop into a lasting relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Statement of Faith:
Egglo Entertainment believes the Bible is God’s inspired, authoritative message to all people.
There is one true God, creator of the universe, who exists eternally in the form of three distinct and equal persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Because of God’s great love and desire to reconcile His people to Himself God sent His son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save mankind. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a perfect, sinless life. He died on the cross for the sins of all, was buried, and rose victoriously from death on the third day. He ascended to the right hand of God, the Father, to live and reign forever. Jesus Christ will return and will gather believers to live forever in His kingdom.
We believe all people are born with a sinful nature and that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins. Through a relationship with Jesus, people receive forgiveness of sins, a right standing with God and eternal life. We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, not by our works.
The Holy Spirit is fully God. He works in all people to bring them to faith and conviction of sin. He indwells believers, encouraging, empowering and equipping them. /We believe the church is the body of Christ, carrying out His work of reaching the lost with hope and healing, making disciples and sending them to all nations.
Darcie’s Story
Egglo Entertainment started from an idea God gave me to help my children think reverently about the Lord. I saw the time between Good Friday and Easter Sunday as a wellspring of opportunity to teach my children about God’s sacrifice for us. I thought to use this period of symbolic darkness as a teachable moment to emphasize the idea that light of Jesus in a dark world.
We attend a protestant church that celebrates the holy days of Easter. I like it because it helps me keep the focus on Jesus. We begin with Ash Wednesday and I give up sweets for Jesus during Lent. The week before Easter I set apart as the holiest of weeks with Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and culminating in the celebration of the Risen Lord on Easter Sunday. (There is also Passover Wednesday and Holy Saturday.) If you’re like me the minute I leave church on Good Friday, I fall back into business as usual, occupied with my own concerns and preparations. I am distracted from the presence of the Lord like Martha. I wanted to teach my children that this time had meaning and to continue the holy momentum. The challenge was to do it in a way that children could grasp and understand.
Another mom and I thought about doing an Easter egg hunt in the dark after church on Good Friday. We hid eggs in the park next to my house. Standing in the glow of a large lighted cross on my lawn I demonstrated the message of Jesus being a light in the darkness by showing how even a small light penetrates the darkness. The message is connected to the reference of God’s people also being a light in the world. We sent the children out with flashlights to search for the eggs in the dark. The kids loved it! It made an impression on them that they still talk about. We also used the opportunity to invite friends.
The activity was such a success that I suggested it to the children’s director at my church. She ran with the idea the following year and planned a “Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt.” The house was packed like never before and the children were beside themselves with anticipation and excitement. The event was creative, inspiring and a tremendous success.
It was apparent that this was an amazing new outreach opportunity that God revealed. I wanted glowing eggs to symbolize the light of Jesus and a concept of searching in the darkness for the light of Jesus. But I discovered that there were no glow-in-the-dark Easter eggs. Though I have no experience or special talent whatsoever I felt led to step out of my comfort zone and invent the eggs and also write a children’s book that connects the Easter egg hunt with Jesus. Over the years I have learned to listen to Holy Spirit’s promptings as there is always a divine outcome. I could not have anticipated such an amazing book, The Egg-cellent Easter Adventure, or such a tremendous program. It truly came from the Lord because I am not that clever.
Ever since I have been trying to follow the Lord’s guidance to create innovative and different programs, tools, and resources for churches to reach families and friends in or outside of the church to share in a the light of Christ.
